I am the owner and Lead Designer at Where The Heart Is Designs. I founded this company in 2018 purely out of a passion for all things home design and a joy for helping others. I am a mom of three, I'm married to my high school sweetheart, and I enjoy doing anything creative. I am a 6th generation Texan, so you could say my Lone Star roots run deep. Every day that I wake up doing what I love, I realize how truly blessed I am to have had the countless clients
achieve their #homegoals, and to have the opportunity to have built several meaningful relationships along the way.
Here at Where The Heart Is Designs, our team is passionate about bringing our clients' dreams to life; whether that be by styling their space or staging their vacant home for potential homebuyers! We love what we do and our passion and skill is reflected in every project.Wehere The Heart Is Designs was born in Fort Worth, Texas and we have no plans of leaving our amazing DFW community. I've lived in Fort Worth for all my life. I'm married to my husband, Jeremy, for 7 years, been together for 10! We have a son who’s 6, and a daughter who is 2 (soon to be 3!) We are absolutely a sport loving family, and spend the majority of our time at the baseball fields. We have two labs named Buckeye (Go Ohio State!) and Gus.
Not only am I outgoing and always laughing, but I always try to spin every situation into a positive one. Whether it’s a life lesson or a pivotal moment in your life!
Fun Fact: I used to work in pediatric dental industry for about four years and thought that was going to be my forever career.
Making a career change into the Interior Design/Home Staging realm was definitely different with full moments of learning new skills, but I truly would not regret the time spent with my team and learning how to create houses into homes for our clients.
ASHTON

Hey, I'm Ashton Mares, a native of Fort Worth/Aledo, and a recent graduate from Tulane University with a degree in Design from one of the top architecture schools in the country. My college journey was a thrilling ride exploring various aspects of design, from interiors and graphics to fashion. While balancing my studies, I also was a captain and 4-year starter for Tulane's Division 1 Beach Volleyball team! We finished ranked 17th in the country my last year!
When I'm not busy creating awesome designs, I'm out there making memories with my family and closest friends. You'll often catch me living an active lifestyle - pilates, globetrotting, trying out new eateries, and enjoying the company of my dog Bo.
While I once dreamed of diving into the themed entertainment industry, my passion shifted towards interior design and staging during my final year. Now, I'm fortunate to work with an amazing team at Where The Heart Is, where we get to create beautiful spaces and have fun doing it. Such a blessing!!

Howdy! My name is Rachel, and I am a proud designer here at Where The Heart Is. I moved to Fort Worth and started my design career in early 2023, and haven't looked back since. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Communication from Arizona State University in 2018 and have been in the digital marketing field until I made the switch to interior design. Now I can't see myself doing anything different. My favorite parts of this job are watching a design come
to life, challenging myself creatively, and constantly learning something new with the best team.
When I'm not working on design projects, you can find me in the gym or a spin class, walking my two adorable dogs, traveling with family and friends, or working on my 1950's fixer-upper home. I love spending time outdoors, cooking/baking, reading mystery novels, and above all, being with my people.

Hello there! My name is Vanessa, and I am from the central valley in California and come from a strong agricultural family background. I moved to Texas three years ago to purse my education in Fort Worth, Texas. I am a third-year student majoring in interior design and minoring in architectural lighting at Texas Christian University; GO FROGS!!
My hobbies include daily physical activity, quality time with friends and family, traveling the world, and trying foods from all different cultural backgrounds.
Starting from a little girl, I was passionate about picking out the right paint colors, rearranging furniture, and discussing plans with contractors, and that is when my mother and I knew that this was the career I was born to be a part of. Being able to land this dream job and work for this company has not only helped me grow in many ways, but has also taught me what it takes to make an ordinary house feel like home and I can promise that with our determined and skillful team, we can do just that and more for you!
ASHLEY
Social Media Coordinator
From Weatherford, Texas, I grew up with a big, big passion for fine arts. I was definitely born with a creative side, so I have always immersed myself in creative hobbies.
As I grew older, I found myself excelling in math and science which lead me to Oklahoma State University where I studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I wanted to help others.
I spent a lot of time doing independent research, which unfortunately (at the time) caused a lot of emotional distress and unwanted weight gain - here it became apparent that I needed to shift my skillset.
I later went through a big physical transformation, where I personally documented my 30 pound weight loss and found a way to merge both my science side and creative side by sharing my journey online. I grew a YouTube channel from zero to half a million views within two months and knew that I was in the right place. Not only was I helping others find confidence within themselves, I wasn't neglecting my creative side anymore.
YouTube opened a lot of doors for me. From co-producing and directing an IGTV reality series with over 2.5 million views, to working with the Texas Rangers, to even starting my own Social Media Agency.
Health and fitness are still just as important to me, as I'm both a certified Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, but I am certain that I'm exactly where I need to be! Working with Where The Hearts Is brings so much joy to my heart. It's really special to work alongside other creatives who prioritize their clients' dreams and make them come to life! Getting to document and showcase this team is truly such a blessing.
MONTY

Hi, my name is Montrell Newton AKA Monty. I started my career by working in the restaurant industry for six years and after much enjoyment, I wanted to try something new! I was presented an opportunity to work with Where The Heart Is and have really enjoyed my time here! It's the right amount of hard work that keeps me in shape.
Everyone on the team always has a positive outlook and are ready to take on any and every challenge! I am thrilled to be a part of the team. In my spare time, I like to workout and enjoy some online competitive video games.
NEHEMIAH
Moving Specialist & Professional Installer
Hi, my name is Nehemiah and I'm almost 19 years old. Although most people call me Nae or KJ. I've been with Where The Heart Is as a mover helping move all furniture, decoration, bedding, etc. for the business for almost a year now and I have greatly enjoyed it. I never would have thought I could have such a fun time and great company within my workplace, but my coworkers and my boss, Savannah, have proved that idea wrong by a long shot! They are
some of the nicest people I believe one could meet and create an amazing work environment for everyone around them.
I'm currently enrolled in college at Tarrant County College working my hardest to finish my associates and hoping to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering after. A fun fact about me is that I love anything involving cars or anything hands on. During my free time, I'm always working on cars or going to car meets. This is something I greatly enjoy!
One thing I especially enjoy about this job is being able to help and give input to the designers. I've found that I actually quite enjoy helping with the designing process within a house. Maybe one day I will decide to dip my toes a little deeper within interior designing, but regardless, I love what I do and love the company!
